I like Picture Wheels. A few years ago I was at a notoriously unkempt night spot in the city and was introduced to Benny O’Neill, the Picture Wheels pioneer himself. The subject quickly shifted to skateboarding and as he spoke excitedly of his venture into the urethane industry. I could tell success was imminent. I mean, I was ready to buy shares. Fast forward to this very moment and Picture Wheels is a fully-fledged, internationally recognized peddler of circumvolution, boasting a diverse and capable crew of local and international rail-scrapers and flip-kickers.
I’m keeping it local today though, this latest offering features one of WA’s finest exports, Alex Campbell and his otherworldly ability to jump up onto really high obstacles with little to no physical exertion. Filmed by one of the most influential sit-down skateboarders of all time, J’amie Fazackerley.
