Land of the Bubble Butts

First things first, don’t take the title of this post as an insult… consider it a compliment to the women of Brazil. I have just returned from a three week stint in Brazil chasing the prime tour. I will get the nitty gritty out of the way first – I was far from successful in the two comps I was there to compete in, as has been the case my whole career when it comes to Brazil. I have surfed in seven major events there and failed to progress through a heat… it cuts me deep to reveal that and I have made the decision to not return there to compete for these reasons.

Like I promised though I made sure I was equipped with my handy Casio camera to snap off a couple of shots of the local ladies for you guys. Here is a couple of the better ones, some of mine and some from the bikini comp at the surf contest

The other fun thing about Brazil is the parties. They don’t tend to really take off until about 1am though but if you can commit to hang in there for the long haul you are guaranteed a good time. One place I must recommend is a spot on the island of Floriannopolis called El Devino Lounge. Its is good from Thursday nights through to Sunday. A few companions and I took it upon ourselves to really let the hair down the night before our departure back to Oz. For all the single guys who are curious, there are girls everywhere, the language barrier is a little tricky but if you can find someone who speaks a little English or you can speak Portugese well then the club will be your oyster!!!!

This last shot I am leaving you guys with is from last year and it’s incredible. To set the scene I had just lost a heat which is a real depressing thing but the first person to greet me was Miss Brazil and her question was, “what do you prefer in Brazil, the surf or the women?” By the look on my face do you think she cheered me up? Is that butt for real?
