Crooked Tongues Preview Party @ Laced
It’s been a while since Crooked Tongues has worked on the 1500 so being a pretty special occasion we threw a little pre-release party at Laced on Friday night. As well as a sneak peak at the shoes, guests were able to directly compare them (thanks to Matt) to the Crooked Tongues 576s from which they take their colourways. They’ve done a great job of transferring across to the 1500 silhouette but seeing them side by side the leather and hand feel of the 576s is far superior. As a little memento everyone was treated to some prints of the deconstructed picture of the 1500s.
Samples of some early 2012 New Balance release were also on display with the black/grey/mint 1500 stealing the show. Call it lucky or frustrating depending on your point of view but one hazard of working in the footwear industry is seeing samples of shoes 9 months to a year before they hit the shelves – March isn’t that long to wait for these beauties.
A few of us also dug through the collections to bring out some pairs of NBs to form a pretty nice display of New Balance heat – see what you can spot. And rounding out the evening of NB goodness was a display of images from the NB574 Journeys exhibition.
