From a Galaxy far far away
Today I picked up my pair of Nike ‘Galaxy’ Foamposites and to say that there was a hype train on these would be a gross understatement, it was more like a hype tsunami. I guess after all is said and done hype doesn’t kill but it sure as hell does cause a riot, temporary homelessness for the brave campers and instant profitability for the flippers amongst us. Its evident a shoe release like this isn’t just for the heads, it’s for the media and the guys trying to make a quick buck. But having said that, now that I’m holding onto my pair… and two of my friend’s pairs (don’t worry I do not have three) I am happy to have them in my possession also!
If you know me personally you will know I am obsessed with space. I watch at least 4-5 space documentaries a week so when I heard about these way back when I got on the digits to make sure I didn’t have to camp or line up. After I did this I totally forgot about them to be honest, that was until the internet turned into Nike Galaxy central for about a month or so. Because of the ensuing hype I was unsure for a long time if I was going to be able to bring these bad boys home but the Universe provided me with the goodness and here they are!
The galaxy theme is a personal favorite of mine and perfect for a sneaker, in space there are so many incredible worlds and structures the options for design are literally limitless. I would love to see a Quasar Air Max 90 or an Event Horizon Air Force 1 to help flesh out this space theme or even a range with a sneaker dedicated to each planet! I am so into this theme that in 2008 I myself customized a pair of Galaxy Dunks which were recently re-released in my Graffiti pack due to their popularity. Anyways it’s all over now, the sleep out is back in full force, the eBay price has already dropped by 50% and I can sleep easily knowing that my soles glow in the dark, so all is good in the world! Now to wait for the Olympic Air More Uptempos I need!
