TOKYO SHOPPING SPREE
Shopping in Japan is off the hook and with only 6 days to fit everything in I went on a whirlwind spree through all my flavourite Japan stores. From Original Fake to Comme Des Garcons, A Bathing Ape to Supreme, there was literally something for me to cop in every store I purchased – and boy did I do it proper! Each store is like an art gallery unto itself with incredibly thought out displays and interior design. It’s best to go to Tokyo without a budget in mind, if your wallet permits! I treated myself ridiculously to some of the dopest proddy I’d ever seen. Dover Street Market in Ginza was a haven of seven floors chock full with shit that I wanted/needed/didn’t need but wanted! Comme Des Garcons is everywhere so I spent the majority of my $$ on whatever CDG I could fit in to. The main item I wanted was the patchwork shirt with red polka dots and having seen the price tag, decided to buy a little smaller as I’m gettin my health in check and tryna shed some kgs. When I scoped the Green Visvim FBTs at DSM I couldn’t go past copping my first pair – the materials are like butter and I’ll look even more like the Peter Pan I am!
Every day was a new adventure and I made sure to cop only pieces that were going to hold to their value – timeless bits of fashion that hopefully I’ll be able to rock for a few years. T-shirt shopping in Japan is next level – every store has a crazy selection of insane logos, prints and colours that the choice was endless. I settled on a few nice pieces from Bathing Ape and Original Fake, then stumbled onto a sweet Keith Haring capsule collection at a store in Shibuya I fail to remember. Eyewear is a scene unto itself in Tokyo, so it was a must to cop a few new pairs of opticals for Djn and home wear. Thanks to Stussy Japan and Neighbourhood for lacing me tight! Check out my gallery of goods I managed to pick up over the 6 days… I’ll be paying that credit card off for the next couple of years methinks…waaaah! But damn it was worth it!
