G-Shock are proud of their venture into the luxury watch market, the Metal Twisted G-Shock, and now they’ve partnered with New York designer Todd Snyder to raise the presentation standards. Snyder has designed a gobsmacking gift box, made from black stained wood casing with a dark tan leather lining, that is inspired by a ‘gentleman’s favourite leather armchair’.
Shigenori Itoh, Chairman and CEO of Casio’s Timepiece Division, was totally down with Snyder’s work, throwing him some proper praise.
“The introduction of MT-G has been an exciting time for G-Shock,” he said. “The expansion of the brand within the luxury sector has made it possible for us to work with one of New York’s most exciting menswear designers. Todd Snyder’s attention to detail, commitment to quality and classic style mirror all the qualities of G-SHOCK’s new MT-G luxury timepiece. This is the beginning of an exhilarating partnership with Todd.”
Toddy boy was also threw back some affection G-Shock’s way, it was a beautiful love-in.
“I am a huge fan of G-SHOCK and the first time I saw the MT-G I had to have one,” he said. “It’s the perfect mix of elegance, masculinity and style. It complements my collection perfectly. I designed the box to symbolize my relationship with G-Shock. I used a white oak and stained it a dark charcoal. I then laser etched the lid with our combined logo and added a burnished leather interior. I wanted to incase the MT-G watch with the precision and elegance it deserves.”
The watches and boxes are on display in New York City for Fashion Week right now.
