To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their high-end MR-G range, G-Shock hosted an elite guest list at Sydney’s renowned Tetsuya’s restaurant. Among those in attendance were Australian rugby union player Kurtley Beale, and Nathan McCallum of the notorious Bangarang Blog. The father of G-Shock, Kikuo Ibe, entertained folks with his stories before putting the new MR-G through a torturous test that really highlighted the watch’s tough credentials. A fair dinkum samurai was also on hand to chop the MR-G out of a huge block of ice using his real-steel samurai sword. With amazing Japanese food and a speech from master chef Tetsuya himself, this was a serious event befitting of the Hammertone MR-G’s position as the pinnacle of the G-Shock range. Bon appetit!
