Casio have applied 35 years of indestructible timepiece design know-how to the field of image-capture technology and produced the G’z EYE GZE-1 camera. The rugged recording device bears a striking resemblance to a G-Shock watch, but in place of a time-telling display, it houses an all-seeing eye that stares right back at you. The GZE-1 is a full HD camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens that can capture 170° video and 190° still images. It can record continuously at 30fps, so you can select sections of the video and slow them down after the fact. It’s also shock-resistant, waterproof up to 50m, dust- and sand-resistant, and can withstand temperatures as low as -10°C. It’s obviously the perfect camera to capture all manner of action sports and can even be controlled remotely using the Pro-Trek WSD-F20 Smart Watch – although we’re hoping it won’t be long before there’s a G-Shock alternative.
