G-Shock new crazy colours exclusive first look

We gave you the sneakiest of tantalising previews for the New Crazy Colours series recently, but now we’ve got something a bit fuller and fatter for you to sink your teeth into. We’ve just got word that this madcap series has been brought forward a month and is going to drop in July! The fresh range features two G-Shock G-8900s and four G-Shock DW-6900s, and the colours are suitably silly, with neon greens, oranges, golds and blues all showing up bold and bright – there’s even some star-spangling on the watch faces. It ain’t for the faint of wrist, but if you wanna make some noise on the streets then you might dig these, check the whole collection below.

It’s time for some tidbits of G-Shock news! The biggest story we can confirm is that G-Shock will be releasing a second generation Bluetooth smart watch series in 2013! We wonder what new features will be in the new editions, and if some fresh G-Shock models will be Bluetooth-enabled. That’s all speculation at the moment, but stick with us because we’ll be the first to bring you the preview when it drops.

The Gravity Defier series we previewed last week has been confirmed for a July release in Australia, so start putting your Banjos and Unaipons together now!

Here’s something you may not have known – one of the first G-Shock watch designs was actually a round ball, not the curved and squarish DW-5000 of 1983. You can see the design in the gallery below next to a photo of Kikuo Ibe throwing a watch out a window for toughness testing. It kinda looks like a bouncy elastic band ball!

Finally, G-Shock’s first Australian collaborators Bliss N Eso have dropped a new film for their song ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’ and there are plenty of G-Shock cameos. You can watch the clip below and check out the featured watches in the gallery.

We knew when we kicked off our biggest comp ever our G-Streeters were gonna get creative, and you certainly haven’t disappointed! We’ve received a ton of entries already, so we thought it was time for a quick round up of the cream of the crop so far. Colour coordinated on-wrist pics have been popular, as have gang shots of G-Shocks begging for a cabinet to call home (we particularly liked the one below that faced the watches away from the camera due to homelessness shame) and ninja poses with suits of G-Shock armour. Some top stuff here, that’s for sure, well done ladies and gents! It’s not too late to get creative though, the comp will finish June 30, so get on over to our Facebook page and post a pic depicting your G-Shock love. Bling bling! G-Shock is cutting into the ‘flaunt it’ market with this new ‘Garish Gold’ series. Four G’s from the June lineup bear a strong similarity, with blackout bezels framing bright gold accents – we’re talking the flashiest, poke your eye out gold too. Half the pack has hit stores in Japan already and is making its way to retailers around the globe at the moment, and it’s the G-Shock GA-110BR-5AJF (directly below) and the GAC-100BR-1AJF leading the charge. Fashion designer Lou Dalton has forged a brand with a very distinctive old world flavour, making her a great partner for a G-Shock colab. She’s included the sophisticated G-Shock GA-1000-1AER in her new catwalk show and talks about G-Shock, her brand and being inspired by war planes in this new video. Watch below.

We’ve had a stack of submissions for G-Shock Collectors Corner so we thought it was high time we dusted the feature off and again shone a light on some of the world’s great G-Shock rockers. This time around we take a look at the collection of G-junkie Kareem Slick. The Toronto pro model possesses a mountain of G-Shock paraphernalia, including T-Shirts, organizers, plenty of stationary and, yeah, a heck of fresh G-Shock watches. G-Shock Desert Beige Series GA-100SD-8AJF up close

At last the union is complete, the family is full, all the beasts have been unleashed – we have close-up shots of the the final piece of the Desert Beige Series puzzle: the G-Shock GA-100SD-8AJF. We’ve already explored the DW-6900SD-8JF and the GW-M5610SD-8JF, and now we look at the brawniest of the bunch, the dual-time demon GA-100 with squillions of features and gajillions of swag points. The Desert Beige matte finish cloaks the bezel and band while the face keeps it char-cold cool with subtle hits of orange and the babiest of blues. Don’t pay no mind to the analogue and digital clocks disagreeing in the photo below, we’re pretty confident this monster won’t let our time telling aspirations down. Pics via Watch-Tanaka. Ahh yes, the G-Shock Gravity Defier series – watches without platinum and gold really don’t get more premium than this. Casio have been kind enough to give us a sneak preview of the latest high-tech, high-style Gravity Defier and we love what we’re seeing! This GWA1100-1A3 somehow managed to score the brawn, the brains and the beauty! Black is where it’s at for the most part, with the un-bustable band and bezel blacked out, while hits of green and silver keep the package plenty stealthy and uber cool. Our G-Shock spidey senses are tingling so hard we’ve broken out in a redback rash – we’ve just got word that the Crazy Colours G-Shock series is getting an update! The pack includes seven new G-Shocks (five DW-6900s and two G-8900s) in cuckoo colourways, we’re talking pinks, bright blue, oranges, neon greens and other shades jammed in on the one piece. The crew is due to drop in Aus in August, so we’ll keep you updated with more pics when we get ‘em.

In other news, surf stars Gabe Kling, Joel Centeio and Yadin Nichol went hard on a tour of the milky waves of Baja and took a stack of pictures of their G-Shocks in action. Check out the shots in the gallery below.
